The Neitz Monocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopes

Excellent Operability and Brightness in Response to the Demands of Ophthalmologists

Neitz has been pursuing bright, durable and user-friendly monocular indirect ophthalmoscopes. They are designed to meet the clinical demands based on long-term trust between Japanese ophthalmologists and on a lot of ideas and information from the medical practice. The Neitz monocular indirect ophthalmoscopes have been created in order to fulfill the wishes of patients and doctors, and are the very essence of "Made in Japan".

Sharp and Clear Illumination for Fundus Observation

Our unique optical design technology has resulted in a clear and even illumination field.
The light enables to securely capture a fundus image with sharp contours.

LED Technology for Pursuing Patient Comfort

LEDs are long-lasting and energy-efficient. Neitz focused on these characteristics from early on and stood firm to develop products comfortable for patient eyes. In the indirect ophthalmoscopes, Neitz has adopted LEDs with less light below 400 nm and colors similar to that of an incandescent bulb. Neitz has actualized patient-, user-, and earth-friendly ophthalmoscopes.

Features of Neitz Monocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopes

The light hazard of all Neitz LED ophthalmoscopes conforms to the requirements of the ISO 15004-2. Compared to general white LEDs, the LEDs in the Neitz products have the following characteristics:
- the short wavelength has a low relative energy that may cause retinal photodamage and photophobia,
- high relative energy of the long wavelength from yellow to red.
The main colours visible on fundus examinations are red in the blood vessels, orange in the retina, and yellow in the optic nerve papillae.
The colour temperature of the LEDs in the Neitz products is 3200K and equivalent to that of a halogen bulb, enabling fundus observation almost same as using a halogen bulb.
